Is Paw Paw effective for people without cancer?

Answer:

Yes, as explained in my book, The Paw Paw Program – a Natural Approach to Cancer  and on many of my website articles, Paw Paw, Asimina triloba, is anti-parasitic, anti- fungal and anti-viral. Because of these actions, it is included in cleanses such as  Para Cleanse (US).  The Canadian Para Pak does not contain Paw Paw, although it can be added. Both 10 day cleanses are effective and recommended for everyone for optimal health as part of seasonal cleansing program.

It can also be applied topically and taken internally for warts, moles, fungal rashes, and other skin growths. For this use it can be mixed with Silver Gel, Black Ointment (US) or similar healing salve.

As it prevents reproduction of  organisms that  are precursors to abnormal cell growth, such as cancer; it can also be used as a preventative on a periodic basis with guidance of a knowledgeable practitioner.

The Most Important Organ – Really?

One day the body got together and decided to have a board meeting. Here’s what went on behind closed doors.

There was an intensive discussion to determine WHO WAS THE MOST          IMPORTANT PART OF THE BODY.

The BRAIN was the first to speak. “Without me nothing would be          accomplished.”

The HEART spoke up. “Without me pumping blood to your brain, you could   not function.”

The ARMS laughed. “You’re both wrong; without me to put food in the          mouth, nothing would work.”

The STOMACH said, “Without me, your food would not digest.”

The LUNGS bellowed back. “Without me, you couldn’t breathe.”

The EYES blinked, “Without me, you could not see.”

The KIDNEYS snorted, “Without me, you could not detoxify and eliminate.”

Then the COLON meekly spoke up, “I am important. You need me to          eliminate all of the garbage from your systems.”

Everyone one laughed and made fun of him.

“How can you be as important as we are? You are just a smelly old sewer.”

The poor colon- his feelings were hurt! He turned away and thought, “I’ll          show them. HE SHUT DOWN!

Then he sat back and watched what happened.

The BRAIN was stupefied and could not concentrate on anything.

The HEART’S beat was weak and irregular; it was too tired to pump oxygen.

The ARMS were weak, heavy and couldn’t move.

The LUNGS- their breathing was shallow. They couldn’t get enough oxygen because the heart was too tired to send them fresh blood or take away the carbon dioxide.

The KIDNEYS quit – urine started backing up, the legs started swelling, the skin developed a rash and the back hurt.

Then the COLON looked around and decided it was time to call another          meeting. It wasn’t too lively this time, but everyone was in totally agreement.

Detoxifying our body is one step in the prevention of disease & weight loss.  If there are too many chemicals in the foods we eat, in the liquids we drink, in the air we breathe and with poisons coming in contact with our skin, our liver will not be able to keep up with the job of detoxifying for years and years on end.  It gets tired.  Did you know that it takes 24 hours for your liver to detoxify one cup of coffee?  Consider all the other toxins your body comes in contact with in a day.  The liver cannot handle all of it so it stores it in our fat cells hoping to get to it later. Do you see why you cannot lose weight?  Our body needs the fat as storage compartments for toxins!

Consider all that is referred to as a “cancer hit.”  These are the toxic preservatives, artificial flavours and other man made chemicals found in the foods we eat, the bus and car fumes we breathe in and the first or second hand smoke.  It’s the personal care products we use on our skin everyday and the clothes we wear made with chemicals and dyes and laundered in chemicals to keep them ‘clean.’  Everywhere we turn; our bodies are exposed to major disease hits.  We can easily be exposed to 25 chemicals before breakfast, so we are in big trouble by day’s end.

After a period of time, our liver becomes full of the toxins that it was not able to detoxify and the lymph becomes a swamp of toxins and heavy metals when it tries to help.  One of the liver’s functions is to clean blood and return it to the heart where it can be pumped to all the cells with nourishment.  Instead, the cells are being fed toxins.  Keep in mind that this same toxic mess in your blood travels to all parts of your body, including your brain.  Want to know why you are forgetful with poor long and short-term memory loss?  Yes, these toxins are in your brain cells.

Lupus, Cleansing, Super Shakes and Energy!

 

Thank you to the 130 people who attended the NSP presentations by Julie De Visser, ND, – great participation from lively crowds that gave our guests a true Vancouver Island welcome!

 

Our group of practitioners work with Julie’s tips for both health and weight loss. They so closely resemble those from a 2012 article, which include the Four Pillars of Weight Loss and Insulin Resistance, (the key to preventing diabetes), that you may want to read it.

Several people commented on the suggested intake of one gallon /4 litres of water per day. Remember that many of the nutritional beverages you sampled at the event can help to make up this amount: Chlorophyll, #1 health beverage since 1972, Zambroza,  Mineral Chi Tonic, Solstic Energy , Solstic Nutrition, and some others in the US ,  Green Tea, E-Tea (Essiac), Licorice.

How Old Do You Think You Are?

It might surprise you, but you’re probably much younger than you think you are, according to Dr. Jonas Frisen, a stem cell biologist at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, who invented a method for estimating the age of human cells. If you’re middle-aged, Frisen estimates your average cellular age is just 10 years old or less. This is because most of your body’s tissues regenerate over your lifetime. As it turns out, according to Dr. Frisen’s novel method for estimating age, the average age of all cells in an adult’s body  is as young as seven to 10 years of age. Read on to see how the cells in the different areas of your body age…you’ll be surprised at just how young you really are!

 

Liver Age: 5 months

The liver is known for its amazing capacity to repair and regrow itself thanks to its rich blood supply.

“I can take 70 percent of a person’s liver away in an operation and around 90 percent of it will grow back within two months,” explains David Lloyd, liver surgeon at Leicester Royal Infirmary in England.

 

Taste Bud Age: 10 days

The tongue is covered with around 9,000 taste buds and each of them is a collection of cells on the surface of the tongue, each housing about 50 taste cells. The buds renew themselves approximately every ten days. However, their sensitivity can be damaged by inflammation from infections and smoking.

 

Brain Age: Same as your current age

Most of our cells that last a lifetime are found in the brain, explains John Wadley, consultant neurosurgeon at Barts and the London Hospital. “We are born with all the brain cells we’ll ever have—around 100 billion—and most of the brain does not regenerate as it gets older. There are, however, two areas of the brain that do regenerate,” says Mr Wadley. “The olfactory bulb that governs our sense of smell, and the hippocampus, which is an area for learning and memory.”

 

Heart Age: 20 years

Until recently it was thought the heart couldn’t renew itself. However, a study at New York Medical College found it is actually dotted with stem cells that constantly rejuvenate it—at least three or four times over a lifetime, says researchers.

 

Lung Age: 2-3 weeks

The cells in the lungs constantly renew themselves, explains Dr Keith Prowse, vice-president of the British Lung Foundation.

However, the lungs contain different cells that renew at different rates. The alveoli or air sac cells deep in the lungs have a steady progress of regeneration that takes about a year. Meanwhile, the cells on the lungs’ surface have to renew every two or three weeks. “These are the lungs’ first line of defence, so have to be able to renew quickly,” says Dr Prowse. The lung disease emphysema can prevent this regeneration as it begins with the destruction of the alveoli, which creates permanent ‘holes’ in the walls of the lungs.

 

Eye Age: Same as your current age

Your eyes are one of the few body parts that don’t really change during your life.The only part that is constantly being renewed is the cornea, the transparent top layer. If this is damaged, it can recover in as little as 24 hours, says Dr Rob Hogan, president of the College of Optometrists.

 

Skin Age: 2-4 weeks

The epidermis or surface layer of the skin is renewed every two to four weeks. This rapid turnover occurs because skin is the body’s outer protection and is exposed to injury as well as pollution. Despite this constant renewal, we still get wrinkles as we get older. That’s because the skin loses collagen and its elasticity as you age.

 

Bone Age: 10 years

The skeleton is constantly replacing itself, explains Dr Peter Selby, an osteoporosis expert based at Manchester Royal Infirmary. It takes around ten years to do this completely. At any one time we have a mixture of old and new bone as the turnover rates differ throughout the body.

 

Intestine Age: 2-3 days

Your intestines are lined with villi— tiny, finger-like branches that increase the surface area and help the intestine to absorb nutrients. They have a very high turnover rate and can be replaced every two to three days, explains Tom MacDonald, professor of immunology at Barts and the London Medical School. A protective layer of mucus membrane also lines the intestine, that renews itself every three to five days.

 

Red Blood Cell Age: 4 months

Blood cells carry oxygen to living tissue and carry away waste. They wear out every four months, after which the liver removes any remaining iron that is needed for healthy red blood cells before the remaining cell is destroyed in the spleen. Since they can also be lost through injury and menstruation, the body is constantly making more.

 

Hair Age: 3-6 years

The age of your hair depends on how long it is, but it generally grows 1 cm each month, explains hair restoration  surgeon, Dr Bessam Farjo. Each individual hair lasts up to six years in women and three years in men. Eyebrows and eyelashes are renewed every six to eight weeks, but a repeatedly plucked brow stops growing because plucking disrupts the growth cycle.

 

So what’s the benefit of knowing all this? One thing is that with proper nutrition, assimilation and elimination, we CAN BE GROWING YOUNGER AND HEALTHIER!

Are Herbs Safe to Use During Pregnancy?

This relates to a question I received about a pregnant woman being able to use herbs for sluggish bowels, aka constipation. I have added information to include the larger question of using herbs in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Health Protection Branch Canada makes herbal companies put warnings on many herbal  labels, in fact on just about any formula that has any herb with any hormonal effect.  This encompasses a great deal of herbs, as Health Canada, doctors, and the medical industry do not understand the difference between hormones (made only by animals) and phyto hormones (found in plants). So anything they perceive to be of a hormonal nature is generally black listed for pregnancy or breastfeeding.

This is a shame, because for almost any challenge someone may experience during pregnancy, a herbal option will be far safer than any chemical drug , whether prescription or over the counter.  You can read  how adverse drug reactions have tripled between 1995 and 2005 making them the fourth leading cause of death in the North America, in a previous blog, North American Health or Sickness?

For one of the most effective herbal laxatives, LBS, or LB the liquid form, there is no warning.  Even if there was, I would still take this over any chemical based laxative because I know it works, plus I know it has several thousand years of historical safety.  I also understand how the health monopoly works, and who Health Protection Branch is protecting. Definitively NOT the public.

I have studied health full time for more than 35 years, and specifically herbs.  I know from experience of helping 10’s of thousands of people that herbs are about 160,000 times safer than any drug – prescription OR over the counter. This figure comes from  FDA statistics: 160,000 people die ANNUALLY from legal, approved drug use – not street drugs – zero die from herb use, even when not always taken as directed.

Any herbal combination that has buckthorn (Rhamnus frangula) bark, or wild yam
(Dioscorea villosa) root, or about 1000 other herbs may carry a warning – I don’t care – when from a trusted, quality controlled herbal source like NSP,  used wisely, they are safe.

Compare this info on LB-X , another safe effective herbal laxative to a one of the “safer” medical alternatives, Senokot, a drug most commonly recommended by doctors:

  • severe stomach pain, severe diarrhea, watery diarrhea;
  • weight loss;
  • worsening constipation after you stop taking senna;
  • enlargement of your fingers and toes;
  • low potassium (confusion, uneven heart rate, extreme thirst, increased urination, leg discomfort, muscle weakness or limp feeling); or
  • nausea, upper stomach pain, itching, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).

Less serious side effects of senna may include:

  • stomach cramps, bloating, gas, mild diarrhea;
  • numbness or tingly feeling;
  • joint pain; or
  • discolored urine.

This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Tell your doctor, pharmacist, herbalist, or other healthcare provider about any unusual or bothersome side effect.”

Some herbal formulas DO contain senna (not a chemical form of it), but as they are properly combined and formulated, I have never had a negative experience with anyone. However, senna is NOT used in LB-X or LBS or LB because of the possibility.

More warnings, from another site on this pharmaceutical alternative, Senokot: this link is no longer working, but side effects copied from that site are below:

“Do not use laxative products (Senekot) when abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting is present unless directed by a physician. If you have noticed a sudden change in bowel movements that persists over a period of two weeks, consult a physician before using a laxative. Do not use Laxative products for longer than 1 week unless told to do so by a doctor. Rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use of a laxative may indicate a serious condition; discontinue use and consult your physician. If you are pregnant or nursing a baby, seek the advice of a health professional before using these products. In case of accidental overdose, seek professional assistance or contact a Poison Control Center immediately. Keep out of children’s reach.”

Yet people take these daily! A huge seller.

Many people, who need assistance to have a minimum of 1 bowel movement per day, have used LBS, LB or LB-X for more than 30 years, with NO problems. Generally with herbal laxatives, the longer you take them, the less you need – a true sign that the condition is improving. With drugs, the opposite usually occurs.

Despite all this information, people still have to make their own choices. Using herbs that have a proven history of roughly 5000 years, or synthetic drugs full of known side effects, or being constipated and internally polluting the bloodstream.

Just like the drugs, seek the advice of a health professional before using these products – but if you are concerned about your health, seek a person with a knowledge in natural remedies! Trust the experience of millennium of traditional use.

Good morning Lorene:  I just wanted to mention to you that I have been doing the Bod-E-Klenz (US only) for the past couple of weeks or so and my psoriasis seems to have improved significantly.  I still have the psoriasis but I would say there is about an 80% improvement.  Seems more than a coincidence to me!

I would like your advice on how often I can do these cleanses or can you perhaps suggest something similar that would help me to maintain these results.  I am also taking the Magnesium Complex – one capsule 2 times a day.  I’m very happy about this improvement with my skin, I look forward to hearing from you.

Very glad to hear this! 80%  improvement in 2 wks. means you are responding very quickly, so I assume you must be doing some positive dietary changes as well while on the cleanse. You will want to continue lots of vegies and salads once you are finished. The Magnesium will also be helping to relax any anxiety that may be involved.

Q&A Natural Laxatives – a good solution

Do you have something I can take every day instead of the laxatives I am on? I have been diagnosed with a tortuous bowl, and can not go without laxatives, I am taking senna, or senokot as it’s called, seems I have to wait months for more testing. Let me know………………cheers

 

Answer:

Thank for contacting us with this question. Yes, There are a couple of herbal formulations that would be more effective than senekot, and would also offer longer term  healing. The challenge with senekot is that it is a synthetic compilation of a natural herb called senna. Unfortunately the other additions are all mostly toxic: D&C Yellow No. 10 Aluminum Lake, FD&C Yellow No. 6 Aluminum Lake, lecithin, polyethylene glycol, polyvinyl alcohol, talc, and titanium dioxide.

I would encourage you to look at the full fact sheets on these two herbal combinations, LBS II and BWL BLD (stands for Bowel Build) , then   make a choice. Either will help; the LBS might be better to get things moving if constipation is a problem; the BWL BLD can be better if there is alternating constipation and diarrhea. There is also one very similar to LBS, which is in Liquid extract form LB. Gotta love your liver!

It is largest organ in your body, performing over 500 different and essential functions, without even being reminded. A few amazing facts about your liver. It  weighs about three to four pounds , has an amazing ability to regrow even if only 20% is left, and performs more than 500 functions to keep your life flowing smoothly!

Among its many functions, the liver:

Candida Albicans / Yeast Infections

WHAT IS IT?

Candida albicans is a form of parasitic yeast which thrives in warm-blooded animals. Candida normally populates the bowel, vagina and mucous membranes. In those with healthy immune systems, it is kept in balance by friendly bacteria such as acidophilus and bifidophilus bacteria. If the balance is upset, the Candida proliferates.

As it multiplies in a hospitable environment, this single cell can rapidly develop into new strains, which is why target- specific drugs have limited effect. Researchers have identified multiple species of Candida, including C. parapsilosis, C. glabrata, C. tropicalis, and C. dubliniensis. Canvas bulgeris as a secondary fungus that can cause many of the symptoms that accompanies Candida albicans.

Researchers who follow the polymorphic philosophy, believe that these are forms of the same organism as it progresses through different stages. It is known that Candida albicans can change its structure and metabolism into a fungal form, with a mass of filaments that can penetrate into surrounding tissue. These filaments are called mycelium. These mycelium can penetrate the lining of the colon, where Candida overgrowth usually begins, and enter the bloodstream. This is how Candida can spread to other organs and systems. When it enters the blood stream, it can travel to any weaker areas of the body, creating infectious – type responses.

At this stage it is now considered to be “systemic yeast infection”. At this  systemic stage, it can severely affect your health.  As the fungi multiply they also produce toxins which circulate in the blood stream & cause all kinds of sickness & illness,  known also as Candidiasis.

 

SYMPTOMS:

Candida ferments glucose, maltose, sucrose, and lactose to produce gas, acids, ethanol alcohol, as well as acetaldehydes, which can inactivate our body’s enzymes. These and other toxic by-products produce an intoxicated effect if they reach high levels in the blood.  Symptoms can be so far reaching that until a few years ago allopathic doctors refused to believe that Candida could be responsible for so many diverse symptoms and refused to recognize its dangerous potential. The symptoms will often fall under one or more of the following categories:

Allergies: partially due to the inactivation of enzymes and therefore the body ends up absorbing incompletely digested dietary proteins. Allergies can range from food sensitivities, to debilitating environmental hypersensitivities. Chemical reactions, pet allergies, continuous nasal congestion or drainage, dark circles under eyes are some examples.

Gastrointestinal: digestive and intestinal problems: 3Bs: belching, burping and bloating, gas, fatigue after meals, diarrhoea or constipation or both, irritable bowel syndrome, leaky gut.

Immune deficiency: yeast infections, thrush or mouth sores, frequent infections: ears, tonsils, bronchitis, diaper rash, bladder infections, vaginal or rectal burning or itching, discharge.

Nervous system: difficulty concentrating, poor coordination, mood swings, depression (both unipolar and bipolar), hyperactivity, poor attention span, mental confusion and anxiety.

Skin: constant skin problems, pimples on cheeks, rashes, athlete’s foot, ringworm, cradle cap, jock itch, psoriasis.

Nutritional deficiencies and imbalances: cravings for junk foods & sugar, dry mouth or throat, fatigue, difficulty getting pregnant, PMS problems including menstrual cramps.

CAUSES:

Antibiotics: promote the growth of Candida by killing friendly intestinal bacteria that control Candida, plus destroy Vit B and K.

Birth control pills: weaken the immune system, alter hormones, release toxins & destroy folic acid, Vitamins C, B6, B2, B12, B1 and E.

Cortisone and other steroid hormones: suppress immune system and destroy Vit A, B6, D, C, zinc and potassium.

Hormones: Progesterone suppositories produce a hormonal imbalance & cause yeast infections. Repeated pregnancies can increase changes in hormonal balance.

Sex:  partners can re-infect each other, so both should follow treatment to eliminate Candida.

Stress: weakens overall immunity, making it a prime target for opportunistic yeast infections.

Diet: Just like the yeast you may use for baking bread, Candida grows rapidly on sugar and flour. Too much acid-forming foods such as meat, poultry, eggs or farmed fish create an imbalanced pH.  Antibiotics and hormones are fed and injected into cattle, chicken and turkeys. Aim for a diet of 80% alkaline, (vegetables of every color and shape) and 20% acid forming foods.

TREATMENT:

As with all health challenges, the Four Pillars of Health need to be considered:

1. Nutrition

Follow a healthy diet, which may also be called a Candida Diet. Think of this not as a restriction diet until Candida is gone, but rather as life-long dietary changes that promote ongoing health and build the immune system. Look at broadening your healthy food choices, rather than as an elimination diet. Eliminate causes listed above – replace drugs and improve health with herbs.

2. Exercise

Energy begets energy. Choose a form of exercise that suits your lifestyle, your interests and level of health, then stick with it and enjoy it.

3. Emotional

Think positively as you begin taking the steps to improve your own health and you will reap the benefits. As you cleanse your body physically, you will find it easier to cleanse emotional toxins.

4. Supplementation

Herbs, enzymes and probiotics work on a two step approach.

First, the climate or environment of the body needs to be changed to eliminate Candida overgrowth, while increasing the friendly bacteria. You do not want to be a good host to Candida and you do want to create an environment that is a great host to the friendly bacteria.

Second, herbs are used to nourish a weakened body and thereby strengthen the immune system

Once the situation is under control, maintenance programs promote strong immunity and are highly recommended.

 

SUPPLEMENTS TO CHOOSE FROM:

Hydrated Bentonite helps to adsorb toxins and carry them out through the bowel as Candida is eliminated and will help prevent too serious a “die off reaction”.

For chronic Candida follow a maintenance/prevention for 5 days a month, after you have cleared it up. Suggested is to take 4 per day of any of the above formulas, or one of the Paks.

If you can do this around full moon, it will be more effective. Doing it 5 days/month means that one set of herbs will last for 5 months, so this is a worthwhile investment.
